No fancy writeup. Mostly just another best-of photo dump from our visit to Carolina's family.
That Said
A couple notes. Starting with these weird science/cooking photos. The morning after I arrived I met up with Roberto (Carolina's brother-in-law) so we could experiment with creating a bespoke non-alcoholic spirit using Peruvian ingredients. Something we had been texting about prior to the trip. Our experiment literally involved visiting a laboratory and then an open-air market before finally concocting our little what-have-you at the Airbnb where Carolina and I were staying in Lima. The results were ... mixed. Maybe someday. But, for now, don't expect to see our elixir on shelves any time soon.
The northern beaches of Peru are gorgeous. Me and Carolina, along with her sister and Kike, flew up for a few days of ceviche and chill.
The bulk of our time was spent eating and drinking. Christmas is taken pretty seriously in this house. One party transitions into another party with brief moments of sleep.
About 45 minutes driving south of Lima is a lovely little beach community. Our friends have a new beach house there, so we stayed for night. And that Saturday all of Carolina's high school friends and their kids met up at the beach for a little reunion.
